Job Location: This position will be located at the Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
The Division of Purchasing is responsible for the purchase of products and services need by state agencies to fulfill their missions in the Executive Branch.
The successful candidate needs to be able to function with a high degree of independence and demonstrate strong organizational and data management skills and be proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with the state's financial management system (MissouriBUYS and MOVERS) is preferred.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
What you’ll do:
- Upload bid and contract files into the Division's public record information system.
- Serve as front desk receptionist for the division.
- Serve as the back-up advertising coordinator for the division by advertising procurements in daily newspapers.
- Conduct bid closing tasks including tabulating bids into MissouriBUYS/MOVERS and generating a procurement abstract for buyers.
- Receive general supervision from a designated administrative supervisor, and carry out assigned responsibillities independently within established guidelines.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
- Six or more months of experience in office support work; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency (substitutions may be allowed).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Good telephone and customer service skills
- Computer software knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Great organizational skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines
