Pastry Chef / Baker — Quarter French

Come hone your craft.

At Quarter French, we're building a bakery from the ground up, rooted in classic French technique and inspired by the ingredients and seasons of the Lowcountry. We're looking for a pastry chef and baker who still gets excited about making something really well.

Completely all scratch bakery, artisan ingredients and techniques.

Real ingredients. Real technique. Real craftsmanship.

You'll work in our dedicated off-site culinary and bakery facility alongside an experienced chef and a team that genuinely cares about the details—from naturally fermented breads and laminated doughs to viennoiseries, pastries, desserts, and anything else we decide is worth obsessing over.

We're looking for someone who loves learning, refining technique, and taking pride in their craft. We want someone who can bring ideas to the table, challenge themselves every day, and help build a bakery program that reflects the care and hospitality we want Quarter French to be known for.

What You'll Be Doing

Producing artisan breads, laminated doughs, viennoiseries, breakfast pastries, and desserts from scratch.
Helping shape and grow our bread and pastry program through recipe development, seasonal features, and thoughtful creativity.
Mixing, fermenting, shaping, proofing, baking, and finishing products with consistency and attention to detail.
Maintaining the highest standards of quality, organization, cleanliness, and food safety throughout production.
Managing production schedules, dough fermentation timelines, and daily prep with care and efficiency.
Working closely with our culinary team to create a bakery program that feels cohesive with the restaurant as a whole.
Continuing to learn, refine techniques, and contribute to a culture where craftsmanship is valued above shortcuts.

What We're Looking For

Professional bakery or pastry experience is preferred, but we'll always make room for someone with exceptional passion, curiosity, and a strong work ethic.
A genuine appreciation for traditional French bread and pastry techniques.
Experience with—or a strong desire to master—laminated doughs, artisan breads, naturally leavened doughs, and viennoiseries.
A meticulous eye for detail and the patience to perfect time-honored recipes.
Someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once.
A collaborative mindset. We value humility, curiosity, and people who enjoy learning from and teaching those around them.
The ability to comfortably navigate early morning bakery shifts.
