Full Job Description

EHS Specialist
Johnson City, TN | $85,000 to $90,000 per year

A large heavy industrial plant in Johnson City, Tennessee is seeking an EHS Specialist to support the plant EHS Manager across environmental, health, and safety functions (approximately 80% safety and health, 20% environmental). This role plays a key part in strengthening the site's safety culture and works closely with plant leadership and the corporate EHS team.

Schedule
Full-time, on-site at the Johnson City, TN plant.

Compensation
This role offers a base salary of $85,000 to $90,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do
The EHS Specialist supports the plant EHS Manager in managing day-to-day EHS activities through an ISO-based management platform, helping maintain and strengthen the site's safety culture through programs such as ergonomics and machine guarding. This includes rolling out corporate EHS programs and systems at the plant level and coordinating closely with plant leadership and the corporate EHS team on implementation.

The role maintains EHSS metrics, recordkeeping, and communications, and supports environmental compliance across air, water, and waste management for the facility.

Required Qualifications

Experience supporting EHS functions in a heavy industrial or manufacturing plant environment
Working knowledge of environmental compliance areas including air, water, and waste management
Familiarity with ISO-based EHS management systems
Experience with safety programs such as ergonomics and machine guarding

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) credential
Experience working with corporate EHS teams to implement site-level programs
Prior experience in a large-scale heavy industrial facility

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary of $85,000 to $90,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
