Full Job Description

Inside Sales Representative – Commercial Vehicles

Build a Sales Career with an Established Industry Leader

Don Brown Bus Sales is looking for a motivated, organized salesperson who knows how to build trust, follow up consistently, and turn customer inquiries into long-term relationships.

This is not a traditional showroom position. Our customers include schools, transportation companies, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, municipalities, churches, businesses, and other organizations throughout the country. You will help them select buses, commercial shuttles, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and vans that fit their operational needs and budgets.

You do not need previous bus sales experience. We will provide product and industry training. What matters most is that you are comfortable speaking with customers, asking good questions, staying organized, and confidently moving opportunities forward.

What You’ll Do

Respond promptly to inbound leads received by phone, email, and our website
Learn each customer’s transportation needs, budget, timeline, and vehicle requirements
Recommend appropriate vehicles from our extensive new and used inventory
Prepare quotes and explain vehicle specifications, financing options, and next steps
Follow up consistently with active prospects and previous customers
Build relationships with customers throughout New York and across the United States
Assist customers by phone, email, video, and in person
Maintain accurate lead, activity, and customer information in our CRM
Coordinate with sales, finance, service, and delivery teams to provide a smooth customer experience
Develop strong knowledge of our vehicles, available configurations, financing programs, and sales process
Manage multiple opportunities while maintaining professional and timely communication

Respond quickly and professionally when a customer reaches out
Ask thoughtful questions instead of simply quoting a price
Follow up consistently without needing to be reminded
Keep their sales pipeline organized and current
Build credibility with customers making important, high-value purchases
Take ownership of opportunities from the first conversation through delivery
Work well with teammates and communicate clearly across departments
Remain motivated through a sales process that may require multiple conversations

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in sales, business development, account management, automotive sales, equipment sales, customer service, or a similar customer-facing role
Strong phone, email, and interpersonal communication skills
Confidence discussing pricing and asking for the sale
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
Ability to manage multiple customers and priorities at the same time
Comfort learning CRM, inventory, and digital communication systems
A professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach
Motivation to achieve individual and company sales goals
Willingness to work on-site at our Johnstown, NY location

Experience selling vehicles, commercial equipment, financing, or business-to-business solutions is helpful but not required.
