Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly
- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with precision, maintaining an accurate cash drawer at all times
- Assist customers with product inquiries, provide product demos when applicable, and promote upselling opportunities to enhance sales
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is clean, tidy, and well-merchandised
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries
- Support inventory management by stocking products and assisting with stock counts as needed
- Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing questions promptly and courteously, fostering a welcoming shopping environment
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail or grocery store setting
- Strong retail math skills for handling transactions accurately and managing cash drawers confidently
- Excellent communication skills in both bilingual settings (if applicable) and in person to connect effectively with diverse customers
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products and conduct product demos to boost sales opportunities
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and inventory stocking procedures
- Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in growth opportunities within the team
- Familiarity with grocery store operations or retail sales transactions enhances your ability to excel in this role
