Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Delivery Captain to oversee vessel deliveries and ensure an exceptional customer experience from delivery through post-sale support. This role serves as the primary liaison between customers, manufacturers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and successful vessel delivery process.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on marine professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to represent the company with professionalism and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, sales teams, service department, and customers to facilitate successful vessel deliveries
- Work closely with business managers regarding scheduling and timing of vessel deliveries
- Conduct vessel orientation sessions and educate customers on vessel operations, systems, and features
- Answer customer questions and provide support during and after the delivery process
- Maintain strong communication between customers and internal departments to ensure a seamless ownership experience
- Assist customers and service teams in identifying and troubleshooting minor service concerns and determining operator-related versus product-related issues
- Perform preventative maintenance on company inventory vessels including:Cleaning strainers, inspecting systems, checking and topping off fluids, testing vessel systems, starting and inspecting vessel components
- Document work completed, including labor tickets, work updates, and service details
- Perform basic mechanical repairs and maintenance on vessels and related equipment
- Ensure all retail and warranty work is completed according to manufacturer and company guidelines
- Support company events and boat shows in setting up, tear down, and working the events
- Travel as required for deliveries, inventory support, or warranty service needs
- Maintain company vehicle logs and ensure a clean, professional appearance of company equipment and vehicles
- Be available to work additional hours when needed
Qualifications
- USCG Master Captains License
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Previous experience operating and delivering boats
- Knowledge of marine systems, vessel operations, and boating safety practices
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
- Ability to lift equipment and work in various weather and marine environments
