Please read this WHOLE POSTING before applying. We are an established and growing remodeling company in the Kalamazoo area. We strive for excellent quality and customer service. We have been in business since 2005 and are looking for people who want to grow with a fun, professional company. We are in need of experienced carpenters/remodelers to add to our team.
Applicants will need to have good people skills and good ethics. We want honest, professional people who take the same pride in their work as we do. Applicants must have reliable transportation (capable of hauling lumber, ladders, etc.), a valid driver's license, and their own tools. If special tools are required for a job, we will provide them. We will also supply safety items and sundries like ear plugs, safety glasses, garbage bags, paint rollers, dust masks, drop cloths, saw blades, etc.
The projects we take on range from simple handyman repairs to windows and doors to large remodels. Ultimately, we would like what we consider a "lead carpenter", someone who can be in charge of projects from start to finish, by themselves or with a helper or two. Understand that "by yourself" does not mean "alone". You will be part of a team of people that supports each other and helps each other be successful.
If you have the proper experience, please make sure that your resume reflects it. Please do not apply if the description above doesn't apply to you or if you use non-prescription drugs or are a heavy drinker. Please do no waste our time. We have had a lot of applicants with inadequate experience. For example: If your job experience is as a barista or a shift manager, you are not a remodeler. If you were an apartment maintenance person or landscaper, you are not a remodeler. If you worked in a factory assembling RVs or have 15 years of painting experience, you are not a remodeler. ALSO, if you are not going to respond when we contact you, don't apply. We do encourage people with a criminal history to apply, but sorry, we cannot hire anyone convicted of a sexual offense or violent crime.
Pay ranges from $25-$35/hr. to start plus benefits and is based on performance. If you are skilled and efficient, we will pay more. We will provide shirts, hats, etc. and any necessary training to make sure you will succeed with us!
We are also interested in subcontracting projects if you are licensed and insured and can commit to adding projects to your schedule. Also, if you know someone who fits the description above and refer them to us, we'll pay you $100 if we hire them and they work for us for at least 30 days!
