About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Systems and Tooling Engineer to drive operational excellence within our production environment. You will leverage your expertise in welding automation, CAD design, and process optimization to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

Design and implement custom tooling and fixturing solutions to improve production throughput and precision.
Oversee the lifecycle of manufacturing projects, ensuring resource allocation and timeline adherence.
Optimize welding operations by managing robotic systems and manual MIG processes to meet rigorous industry standards.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including WPS and PQR, to ensure consistent compliance.
Execute root-cause analysis for equipment failures and weld defects to minimize downtime.
Program and maintain CNC equipment, including plasma cutters, laser systems, and press brakes.
Conduct time and motion studies to identify cost-saving opportunities and process bottlenecks.
Provide technical mentorship to production teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
5-10 years of experience in heavy manufacturing environments.
Proficiency in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks, for design and modeling.
Strong background in weld metallurgy and robotic welding integration.
Demonstrated experience with ERP systems and project management methodologies.
Analytical mindset with the ability to perform statistical quality control.

Preferred Skills

Direct experience with Epicor ERP software.
Advanced knowledge of PLM systems and engineering process controls.
Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems and electrical troubleshooting.
Familiarity with CNC/CAM programming workflows.
