LN Engineering is hiring for a Quality Inspector / Quality Technician position in Momence, Illinois.
This is a hands-on quality role in a precision manufacturing environment. The position will support day-to-day quality functions as well as periodic ISO-related responsibilities, including incoming inspection, internal inspections, first-piece checks, external product validation checks, calibration tracking, NC/CAR/SCAR follow-up, and internal ISO audit support.
We are especially interested in candidates with ISO 9001 experience, internal audit experience, corrective action follow-up experience, or quality system documentation experience.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Performing incoming inspections on supplier/vendor products
- Performing internal inspections, including first-piece checks
- Performing external product validation checks and inspections
- Reviewing product against drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements
- Using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and related inspection equipment
- Documenting inspection results clearly and accurately
- Helping identify, document, and control nonconforming product
- Supporting NC, CAR, and SCAR ownership, tracking, and follow-up
- Maintaining calibration records and helping track calibration of tools and inspection equipment
- Supporting and helping facilitate internal ISO audits with cross-department internal auditor support
- Helping validate product information and logistics between departments
- Supporting experimental/test studies as needed
- Assisting on the shop floor when needed to help move quality-related work forward
Experience requirements:
Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in a quality role, with direct hands-on inspection experience in a manufacturing, machining, metrology, or precision component environment.
Applicants should be comfortable performing inspections, reading technical drawings, using precision measuring tools, documenting results, and determining whether parts meet requirements.
The right candidate should bring a strong inspection foundation, but also be willing to learn LN Engineering’s products, procedures, and inspection methods.

- Verisurf or Hexagon laser scanning experience
- Supplier quality experience
- Machining, automotive, aerospace, engine component, or precision manufacturing experience
Physical requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and handle parts during inspection. Candidates must be able to lift, move, or position parts weighing up to approximately 50 lbs. Carts and team-lift assistance are available for heavier or awkward items.
Pay range:
$25–$36/hour depending on experience.
Candidates with ISO 9001 experience, internal audit experience, strong NC/CAR/SCAR follow-up experience, CMM/metrology experience, GD&T knowledge and interpretation, or advanced quality experience may be considered at the higher end of the range.
