Full Job Description

The Laser Operator l has an important role in our manufacturing process as is responsible for operating and maintaining our laser/plasma cutting and CNC machinery to produce precision components following engineering specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, technical proficiency, and a strong commitment to safety.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Operate laser/plasma CNC cutting machine equipment to produce parts to precise specifications.

· Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering instructions to ensure accurate production.

· Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning, sharpening, and replacing worn parts.

· Monitor machine operations, making necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.

· Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as needed.

· Collaborate with the production team to meet production schedules and deadlines.

· Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.

· Keep accurate records of production activities, including materials used and output produced.

· Troubleshoot and resolve basic machinery issues on time.

· Operate overhead cranes to move materials safely

· Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC laser /Plasma cutting equipment

· Ability to proficiently read blueprints and verify dimensional requirements

· Thorough knowledge of computer CAD programming is a plus

· The ability to maintain reliable and predictable attendance

· The ability to stand throughout the day, climb on/off equipment, and lift materials to 50 pounds.

· The ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment

· A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal

· High School Diploma

· Knowledgeable with devices, such as Tablets, Smart Phones, Cameras, and Windows PC.

· Must be able to stand for long periods on the job

· Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather throughout the entire facility

· Willingness to work overtime and weekends

· Basic understanding of how to read shop drawings. technical documents and manuals, for product conformity.

PPE Required

· Hearing Protection (will be provided by the company)

· Hard Hat (will be provided by the company)

· Eye Protection (will be provided by the company)

· Steel toe boots

Work Environment: This job operates in a manufacturing plant. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts and cranes.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to kneel; stoop; bend; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, hourly position. Standard days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 1:30 pm (second shift)
