Job Title: MPGA Trainer
Reports to: President/CEO or Director of Administration
FLSA: Exempt ( Salaried)
Job Purpose
The MPGA Trainer is responsible for delivering and assisting in the development of training programs and materials for propane industry professionals, including safety training, regulatory compliance, and technical skills development. This position requires a knowledgeable and dynamic individual with strong presentation skills and a commitment to promoting propane safety and professionalism.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of training programs and materials for propane industry professionals, including safety training, regulatory compliance, and technical skills development
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date with industry standards and regulations
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and delivery methods to engage learners and enhance learning outcomes; create training aids
- Successfully teach multiple courses and provide effective feedback to participants
- Deliver in-person and/or virtual training sessions to propane industry professionals, including propane marketers, technicians, and emergency responders
- Provide hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to reinforce key concepts and skills
- Travel state-wide, approximately 80% of the time, to conduct on-site training sessions at propane facilities and customer locations and/or host events
- Schedule courses / secure venue contracts; maintain up to date calendar of events
- Create, maintain and/or submit accurate records and reports of training events, times, locations, participants, evaluations, etc.; correctly enter PEU's for courses
- Provide prompt customer service to vendors and internal clients Represent MPGA at district meetings, industry events, and trade shows to promote training programs and engage with industry stakeholders
- Create educational written articles for magazine
- Submit timely and accurate credit card reporting
- Maintain company vehicle per policy guidelines
- Secure course training materials for training events; load and unload training materials
- Continue to stay updated on 54 & 58 codes as well as DOT and hazmat regulations or any other laws or regulations as needed for this position
- Assist in creating curriculum for meetings
- Be punctual when arriving to work and returning from breaks or lunch
- Exercise good judgment and follow all safety policies and rules. This includes the utilization of PPE per policy requirements.

Education and Experience
Any combination of formal education, training and/or experience providing evidence of the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined for this role
Strong knowledge of propane safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices
A bachelor's degree in a related field, supplemented by 4 years of experience in safety management/training or related industry preferred
Experience in the propane or energy industry and relevant certifications (CETP, NPGA, etc.) preferred
Valid class E or higher driver's license and a good driving record is required
Certifications
Must obtain and maintain appropriate certifications, as required.

- Proficiency with machinery mechanics and common troubleshooting
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Good oral and written communication
- Excellent speaking skills for training small and large audiences

- Read and understand the English language

Working Conditions
Working conditions at MLPGA Inc. may include enduring cold or hot weather, standing for extended periods of time on hard flooring, sitting, climbing stairs, and lifting heavy objects to waist height or overhead.
Walking at job sites.
Ability to use and operate computer/iPad, laptop equipment, printer and other essential equipment.
Ability to travel for work-related assignments when needed; overnight stays will be required.
Possible weekend work, as needed.
Physical Requirements
MPGA Trainer is expected to endure 5-7 hour periods standing (lunch and breaks provided), lift up to, but not exceed, 50 lbs when setting up for trainings. May be in a seated position up to 8 hours.

- Speaking and Hearing: Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, coworkers and training participants; 75-100%

- Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products, lift products over shoulders heights, and climb stairs or ladder; 50-74%
- Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; 50-74%
Employees will be required to demonstrate continued knowledge of this position’s current regulations and requirements. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

Condition of Employment
Successful candidates must submit to random drug testing throughout employment and successfully pass the background check.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
