As a Tax Manager, you will prepare and deliver financial documents for tax and accounting purposes. Working with financial advisors and wealth planners, this role will provide our clients with specialized professional tax preparation and planning services.

Position Title: Tax Manager Department: Wealth Management

Direct Report: Chief Executive Officer Position Type: Full-Time

Position Objective:

HFG Trust is looking for a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team. For over 40 years, HFG Trust has helped individuals, families, and business owners confidently navigate their financial lives. Role Responsibilities:

Proactively interact and communicate with clients to gather information
Build solid, effective client relationships
Participate in financial reporting engagements
Prepare and review individual, trust, and business tax returns
Conduct tax research and provide strategic tax planning for clients
Provide comprehensive tax consulting services to clients
Assist with IRS and state tax notices and audits
Analyze client financial information and identify potential tax-saving opportunities
Contribute to business development efforts and promote firm services to potential clients

Required Education and Experience:

Accounting, Finance, or Economics degree from an accredited university.
Relevant experience in the industry with relevant responsibilities and duties
Experience with high-net-worth individuals and small business clients, or business and estate/trust taxation
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License Required
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations

Job Requirements:

Work experience that demonstrates investment acumen as well as people and teamwork skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Excellent communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
Strong project management skills – organized, meticulous, and able to multitask and prioritize.

Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company environment.
Proactive, self-motivated personality
Experience with investment platforms and/or client service

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include good visual acuity to read print and computer screens.
