Who we are Lexern Law Group is a dynamic, owner-led firm in Libertyville. We help business owners, licensed professionals, and families with estate planning, business law, M&A, and probate. A meaningful portion of our clients are Russian-speaking entrepreneurs and professionals. Our clients come to us at moments that matter, primarily at the time when they are selling or buying a business, losing a parent, protecting a family. Our work is to make those moments less stressful and more clear.

The role in one sentence You will be the operational backbone behind our estate planning practice, business matters, and probate cases that we open so that nothing falls through the cracks and clients always know where they stand.

We're seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our team in Libertyville, Illinois. This is an in-office role reporting directly to a supervising attorney.

What you'll do

Prepare and organize estate planning, business, and probate files under attorney supervision
Review and record client intake documents
Draft, assemble, and file trust implementation and probate documents for attorney review
Proofread and prepare documents for attorney finalization
Organize and maintain client files across our systems
Track deadlines and keep matters moving forward
Communicate with clients — updates, scheduling, and support
Help attorneys prepare for client meetings and case work

What We're Looking For

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent writing, reading, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and hit deadlines
Ability to work independently and resourcefully
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Gemini, and Google Workspace
Willingness to learn and adopt new tools
Reliable, full-time on-site attendance in Libertyville

Helpful (not required):

Prior legal assistant, paralegal, or estate planning experience
Bilingual Russian/English is a plus
