Full Job Description

Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Mortgage Loan Originator is to support the residential mortgage loan process from application through closing and sale to investors. This position ensures loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant while providing excellent customer service and assisting with underwriting, closing, and post-closing activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Note: The following duties are not exhaustive and may be subject to change.

· Quote mortgage rates to customers and realtors.

· Prepare closing cost worksheets for realtors and customers on demand for all loan types.

· Assist originators with residential loan applications to verify data is complete and meets standards; organize documentation into file folders.

· Pull credit bureau reports and request written/verbal verifications of employment.

· Lock loans with investors.

· Prepare and organize the documents required to underwrite, close, and sell loans to investors.

· Inform originator of discrepancies that could impede loan closing.

· Assist originator in submitting loan packages to underwriting for approval.

· Clear conditions to include, but not limited to further verification of income, VOD, payoff, insurance, etc.

· Prepare loans for closing through investor website and provide information for attorneys to prepare the Loan Estimate for closing.

· Interact with loan applicants, realtors, attorneys, insurance agents, and loan investors.

· Attend closings, if needed.

· Organize closed files and upload them to investors. Overnight original note and allonge to investor.

· Assist Mortgage Loan Originator in resolving any funding issues.

· Take applications from customers if needed.

· Complete HMDA worksheet and documents for submission to appropriate personnel.

· Assist Originators in reporting Mortgage Loan Denials.

· Prepare and Execute Quarterly Loan File Audits to 3rd Party Compliance Partner.

· Always maintain high level of confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma; extended education is a plus.

· Preferably 2 years of banking experience.

· Proficient computer and typing skills.

· Detail oriented

· Good verbal, written, oral and typing skills are a must.

· Must possess good organizational skills.
