Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Dental Assistant will assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including general dentistry and endodontics.
Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Perform aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
Take and develop X-rays as required, adhering to safety protocols.
Record vital signs and maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Manage patient flow and schedule appointments efficiently.
Handle medical coding for insurance claims as needed.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal patient care.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of aseptic technique, vital signs monitoring, medical coding, and general dentistry practices.
Familiarity with dental software such as Epic is a plus.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is an advantage.
