Full Job Description

Job Title: Controls Engineer

Location: North Carolina

We're hiring a Controls Engineer to support automation, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role will focus on designing, programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing control systems to improve production performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Design, program, and modify PLC, HMI, and control systems
Troubleshoot automation and equipment issues to minimize downtime
Support new equipment installations and process improvement projects
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
Develop and maintain technical documentation and system standards
Ensure safe and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
Knowledge of HMI, SCADA, VFDs, and industrial networking is a plus
Ability to travel to multiple manufacturing sites across North Carolina
