Full Job Description

An established business in Killington, Vermont, is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead the back-of-house team at a busy, high-volume restaurant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing teams, maintaining exceptional food quality, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and committed to creating a positive workplace culture while delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all day-to-day kitchen operations
Supervise, coach, train, and develop the culinary team
Create employee schedules and manage labor to meet business needs
Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and recipe execution
Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and control food costs
Manage kitchen budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
Work closely with front-of-house to ensure an exceptional guest experience

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar culinary leadership role
Experience leading teams in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and culinary best practices
Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods
