Job Overview

Senior Accountant

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. The Senior Accountant will oversee daily accounting operations, prepare accurate financial reports, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide financial analysis to support business decisions. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with management. Experience with Famous preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage the month-end and year-end close process.
Prepare and post journal entries.
Reconcile general ledger, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
Analyze financial data and investigate account discrepancies.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable tax regulations.
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and required documentation.
Prepare sales tax and other regulatory filings as required.
Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Train and mentor accounting staff.
Collaborate with management to provide financial reporting and business analysis.

Preferred Experience

Experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, or agricultural operations is highly preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
CPA certification is a plus but not required.
