We are seeking an Assistant Genetics Quality Assurance Officer to support the oversight of our Genetics Department, with a primary focus on scientific research, genetics report review, and quality assurance.

Position Overview
The Assistant Genetics Quality Assurance Officer will work closely with Genetics Department leadership to support the scientific and quality oversight of genetic testing reports.
The position will assist with research, review, and quality assurance activities to help ensure genetic reports are scientifically accurate, consistent, properly documented, and aligned with established laboratory standards and procedures.
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with standard hours of 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. Remote work is permitted.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with quality assurance review of genetic testing reports prior to finalization.
- Conduct scientific and literature research related to genes, genetic variants, molecular pathways, medications, and other information relevant to genetic testing and interpretation.
- Review report content for scientific accuracy, consistency, completeness, and appropriate documentation.
- Support Genetics Department leadership in maintaining high standards for genetic report quality.
- Assist in identifying discrepancies, inconsistencies, or areas requiring additional scientific review.
- Review and evaluate supporting scientific literature and reference materials used in genetic reporting.
- Assist with research involving genetic variants, molecular biology, and pharmacogenomic information.
- Support quality improvement initiatives within the Genetics Department.
- Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of quality assurance procedures and documentation.
- Collaborate with laboratory, scientific, and operational personnel to investigate and resolve report-related questions.
- Maintain organized documentation of quality assurance reviews and findings.
- Remain current on developments in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, pharmacogenomics, and related scientific literature.
- Perform additional genetics research and quality assurance responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For Education — Critical Requirement
Candidates must possess a relevant scientific degree to be considered.
Preferred educational backgrounds include:
- Recent Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Molecular Biology, preferably with academic or laboratory experience involving PCR; OR
- Degree in Molecular Biology with a Master's degree or PhD in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Genetics, or a closely related discipline.
Strongly Preferred:
- Master's degree or PhD involving genetics or molecular genetics.
- Coursework or academic experience in pharmacology, pharmacy, or pharmacogenomics.
- Hands-on or academic experience with PCR and molecular testing methodologies.
- Exposure to genetic testing, molecular diagnostics, genomics, or clinical laboratory environments.

- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with departmental leadership.
- Previous experience in genetics, molecular diagnostics, laboratory quality assurance, or clinical laboratory operations is preferred but not required for an academically strong candidate.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Location: Remote Eligible
Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour, depending on education, experience, and qualifications
Candidates with an advanced genetics-focused Master's degree, PhD, significant molecular diagnostics experience, or directly applicable genetics quality assurance experience may warrant compensation toward the upper end of the range.
