Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Intake Coordinator to join our behavioral health team! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for consumers, managing the initial intake process with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your energetic approach will help streamline patient onboarding, ensure accurate documentation, and facilitate smooth communication between consumers, mutual behavior health providers, and insurance companies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on patient experiences while supporting the efficient operation of our medical or dental practice.

Responsibilities

Greet consumers, staff, and visitors warmly, establishing a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Collect and verify consumer information using electronic health records (EHR) and consumer chart.
Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinating with behavioral health providers to optimize daily workflows.
Maintain strict confidentiality of consumer records in accordance with health regulation policies and privacy laws.
Assist consumers with insurance verification, and understanding health coverage options.
Communicate clearly via phone and consumer communication channels to confirm appointments and relay important information.
Support administrative tasks such as data entry, typing reports, and updating health records.
Collaborate with staff (QP) to ensure all documentation complies with behavioral health standards and regulations.

Experience

Prior experience working in an office environment is highly preferred.
Familiarity with office procedures, behavioral health regulation policies, and consumer charts is essential.
Strong knowledge of health insurance processes, and health records management.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for administrative support tasks.
Experience handling sensitive information while maintaining patient confidentiality is crucial.
Office experience demonstrating organizational skills, multitasking ability, and attention to detail will support success in this role.
