Full Job Description

Summary:

The Deli Cook II is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality food products while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced deli environment. This role follows established recipes, food safety standards, and operational procedures to ensure consistent product quality and guest satisfaction. The Deli Cook II maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary work area and communicates effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors to support daily operations.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, cook, and package food items according to established recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines.
Measure, mix, and manage ingredients to ensure product consistency and quality.
Operate deli equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers, fryers, mixers, and rotisserie ovens.
Clean, sanitize, and dismantle equipment according to company and health department standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation throughout each shift.
Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and presentation to ensure compliance with company standards.
Take customer orders, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional service.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely food preparation.
Ensure all food items are prepared and served within established service-time expectations.
Follow all food handling, safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
All other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

Minimum of one (1) year of culinary, deli, food preparation, restaurant, or related food service experience required.
Knowledge of food preparation methods, food safety practices, and sanitation standards preferred.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen and deli equipment.
Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
Professional working proficiency in English is required. Candidates must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, read recipes and food preparation guidelines, communicate effectively with customers and team members, and work safely in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform duties that may require lifting, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion.
Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as business needs require.
Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently
Must be able to legally work in the USA.

Education and Certification(s)/License(s):

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
