Full Job Description

Join our team as a Dentist at the Orlando VA Medical Center located in Orlando, FL. This is a contract assignment with the Department of Veterans Affairs. W-2 and 1099 employment options available:

W-2: Access to Monterey Medical employee benefits with lower overall rate of pay.

1099: Higher overall rate of pay in lieu of employee benefits.

Duties include:

· Minimal sedation/Anxiolysis (oral only, single agent)

· Treatment of caries, defective restorations, traumatic injuries to teeth, and occlusal therapy.

· Prosthetic replacement of missing dentition (fixed and removable)

· Prosthetic restoration of single implants and implant-retained denture

· Endodontic therapy, non-surgical

· Gingivectomy/Gingivoplasty

· Simple and surgical extractions, socket preservation, and alveoplasty

· Localized delivery of chemotherapeutic agents

· Minor pre-prosthetic surgery (soft and hard tissue)

· Repair of minor intra-oral biopsy (less than 1cm)

· Emergency dental treatment

· Oral pathology/oral medicine

· Non-surgical management of temporomandibular disorders

· Complete occlusal adjustment

· Post-mortem dental exam for purpose of identification

Schedule: Full-time, 8A-4:30P Mon-Fri. No call, weekends, or federal holidays.

Period of Performance: 1-year base period (9/28/2026-9/29/2027) w/ four additional 1-year options available for a possible total of up to 5 years through 9/27/2031.

Qualifications:

Education. Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
Board Certification. BC/BE preferred.
Certification/License. Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States. BLS required.
Experience. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of providing consultation, comprehensive dental examinations, diagnosis, preventative and/or therapeutic treatment of diseases, disorders, and/or conditions of the oral cavity, maxillofacial area, and/or the adjacent and associated structures.
Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
Subject to background/security investigation.
Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Monterey teams with general practice, specialists, and allied health practitioners nationwide to provide local coverage for examinees. We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our clients include the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense, and more. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events.
