Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing individual and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. Your expertise will help clients maximize their tax benefits while adhering to all legal requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your technical accounting skills and client service abilities will make a significant impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, tax law, and tax preparation software, along with excellent communication skills to effectively assist clients through complex tax processes.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations using advanced tax software.
Review financial documents such as income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide compliant and optimized tax strategies for clients.
Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information, explain tax positions, and answer questions related to their filings.
Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize refunds or benefits.
Maintain organized records of all tax documents, reports, and correspondence for audit readiness.
Support client acquisition efforts through marketing initiatives and providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements

Proven experience in public accounting or a similar role with a focus on tax preparation and compliance.
Strong knowledge of tax law, partnership tax expertise, corporate accounting, and individual tax reporting.
Proficiency with tax preparation software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent financial software.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial concepts, bookkeeping practices, and technical accounting standards.
Excellent analysis skills combined with strong math abilities and attention to detail (including 10 key typing skills).
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to clients of diverse backgrounds.
Experience with client communication, client acquisition strategies, and marketing is a plus.
Familiarity with federal and state tax documents, reporting requirements, and compliance procedures.
