Full Job Description

Bookkeeper & Office Assistant
We're a growing manufacturer of natural soaps, lotions, and bath products based in La Porte, IN. We need someone who can handle our books and keep our office running smoothly. You'll report directly to the CEO and be responsible for all our financial record-keeping plus a variety of office tasks that keep our business moving forward.

This is an in-person role where you'll be the go-to person for both numbers and operations support. One day you might be reconciling accounts and running payroll, the next coordinating shipments and placing orders with suppliers. We need someone who's detail-oriented with finances but also flexible enough to handle whatever comes up in a growing business.

Position: Bookkeeper & Office Assistant
Location: La Porte, IN
Experience: 2+ Years in Bookkeeping or Accounting

What You'll Do:

Handle all bookkeeping: Manage QuickBooks, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial reports.
Support tax preparation: Organize records and work with our accountant to ensure everything's ready for tax season.
Manage purchasing: Place orders for supplies, materials, and equipment, working with vendors to get the best prices and delivery times.
Coordinate logistics: Handle shipping arrangements, track deliveries, and manage our supply chain relationships.
Provide office support: Answer phones, manage files, schedule appointments, and handle whatever administrative tasks come up.
Monitor cash flow: Keep track of our financial position and alert management to any issues or opportunities.
Process invoices and payments: Ensure bills get paid on time and customer payments are properly recorded.

What We're Looking For:

Solid bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
Detail-oriented person who takes accuracy seriously.
Good organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
Comfortable communicating with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
Self-starter who can work independently and figure things out.
Someone who enjoys variety and doesn't mind when priorities shift.
Professional phone manner and basic computer skills.
