Full Job Description

At Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service (SCHAS), we know our employees are our greatest asset. We're seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. About the Position

As our Human Resources Coordinator, you'll become an integral member of that team. This is an in-office position where collaboration, accessibility, and relationship-building are essential to supporting our employees and partnering with caregivers, Operations, Finance, and leadership. Success in this role requires professionalism, sound judgment, initiative, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for serving others.

Primary Responsibilities

As a member of the Human Resources team, you will:

Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready employee personnel records in both electronic and paper formats.
Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, including reference checks, background screenings, drug screenings, new hire documentation, and employee setup.
Maintain employee records within HR information systems, ensuring all documentation remains accurate, complete, and current.
Monitor Human Resources compliance requirements and prepare reports supporting regulatory agencies, payer requirements, state surveys, and internal audits.
Track workforce metrics, retention, turnover, compliance, and employee engagement trends while preparing reports for leadership.
Assist with benefits administration, payroll system support, workers' compensation reporting, leave administration, and other Human Resources functions.
Partner with caregivers, Operations, Finance, and leadership to provide timely, professional, and solution-focused Human Resources support.
Help evaluate and improve Human Resources processes, systems, forms, and workflows to promote efficiency and an exceptional employee experience.
Collaborate with the Human Resources team to ensure continuity of operations and consistent support for employees.
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, accountability, dependability, and consistent attendance while meeting the critical daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual responsibilities that keep our Human Resources operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent; must be at least 18 years of age.
Candidates who do not currently possess an associate's or bachelor's degree must be willing to enroll in an accredited degree program within 12 months of hire and maintain satisfactory academic progress while employed.

In addition, successful candidates will possess:

Strong organizational, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting recurring deadlines.
The ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and the ability to quickly learn new software systems.
Professionalism, integrity, initiative, accountability, reliable attendance, and a strong customer service mindset.
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
Ability to successfully complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent progressively responsible HR experience.
Two or more years of Human Resources experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee records, compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, or other core Human Resources functions.
Experience in healthcare, home care, nonprofit organizations, or another highly regulated industry.
A demonstrated commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
A collaborative mindset with a desire to contribute to a team that values service, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
