Full Job Description

Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Personal Injury Law Office

We are a busy personal injury law office with a new office in Kokomo seeking dependable, organized, and motivated individuals to join our team. Prior legal or law-office experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate who has strong administrative, organizational, and customer-service skills.

This is an in-office position in a fast-paced environment. The right person will be comfortable communicating with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, attorneys, and other professionals while keeping cases and daily responsibilities organized and moving forward.

Our office uses modern CRM, case-management, and AI-powered software to manage cases, communications, workflows, and administrative tasks. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with emerging legal technology and develop valuable, transferable skills in CRM systems, automation, workflow management, and practical AI tools that are becoming increasingly important in all fields.

Responsibilities

Communicate professionally with clients and insurance adjusters
Maintain calendars, deadlines, appointments, and follow-ups
Maintain and work from daily task lists
Keep files and case information organized and up to date
Assist with correspondence, documents, records, and other case-related tasks
Follow established office procedures and workflows
Prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines
Provide strong customer service, including working professionally with clients who may sometimes be upset, demanding, or under stress

What We're Looking For

Some legal or law-office experience is a plus
Strong computer and general office skills
Comfortable using spreadsheets, calendars, task lists, and electronic case-management systems
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Task-oriented and able to follow projects through to completion
Strong communication and customer-service skills
Able to remain professional under pressure
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
Willing and able to work in our Kokomo office
Spanish-speaking ability is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

$18–$20 per hour to start, depending on experience
Comp time
Paid major holidays
401(k) eligibility after one year

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
