About Silo Modern Farmhouse

At Silo Modern Farmhouse, we believe the farm-to-table philosophy is not just a trend — it’s our way of life. Our team, led by Executive Chef Laura Favela, crafts every dish from scratch using locally sourced ingredients from Kansas farmers. From fresh-baked breads to hand-rolled pastas and house-made sauces, we bring both passion and precision to every plate. The Role: Kitchen Expediter (Expo)

As the Expediter, you’ll be the vital link between our culinary team and our guests’ tables, ensuring smooth coordination and quality control. You'll work alongside an experienced team, maintaining our standards for presentation, timing, and guest satisfaction.

What You'll Do

Pre-Service Prep✔ Stock and organize all expo station items (sauces, honey dippers, ramekins, etc.)
✔ Prepare the expo well and sanitation station
✔ Verify and taste test certain key items (like crackers for charcuterie boards)

During Service✔ Manage the Micros 3700 KDS system and prioritize ticket flow
✔ Coordinate timing with kitchen staff and servers
✔ Perform quality checks on plating, portion sizes, and modifications
✔ Communicate allergen and special request notes clearly

End of Shift / Closing✔ Clean and organize all expo areas
✔ Replenish stock for the next shift
✔ Deep cleaning tasks (Sunday deep clean includes shelving and equipment)

What We’re Looking For

Restaurant experience required (expo or similar role preferred)
Excellent communication and time-management skills
Attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle warm working conditions (expo areas near warmers and kitchen heat)
