Full Job Description

Team Select Home Care

Team Select Home Care is seeking an experienced Area Director of Clinical Operations to provide clinical and operational leadership across our Washington market.

This is a senior clinical leadership opportunity for an experienced home health and Private Duty Nursing (PDN) leader who has successfully led clinical leaders across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has experience leading Directors of Nursing or other director-level clinical leaders, rather than solely managing frontline clinical staff.

We will also consider an exceptional Director of Nursing who has successfully overseen a large-scale PDN operation of 100+ patients and is ready to take the next step into multi-site leadership.

The Area Director of Clinical Operations will be responsible for developing clinical leaders, driving accountability, maintaining regulatory and accreditation readiness, and ensuring consistent clinical and operational performance across the assigned territory.

What You'll Do

Provide clinical and operational leadership across multiple branch locations throughout Washington.
Lead, coach, and develop Directors of Nursing and other clinical leaders across the assigned territory.
Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across clinical leadership teams.
Drive clinical quality, compliance, staffing, operational performance, and patient outcomes.
Provide leadership and oversight for complex pediatric and Private Duty Nursing (PDN) operations.
Lead and support Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
Maintain ongoing survey and accreditation readiness across assigned locations.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, Medicaid, payer, and accreditation requirements.
Monitor clinical and operational performance and implement improvement plans when needed.
Partner with branch and organizational leadership to address staffing, quality, patient care, and operational challenges.
Coach clinical leaders through performance management, organizational change, and team development.
Support incident management, risk management, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Identify opportunities to standardize and improve clinical processes across locations.
Collaborate across departments to support sustainable growth and excellent patient care.
Travel throughout the assigned Washington territory to provide hands-on leadership and support.

Qualifications:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Strong leadership experience in Home Health, Private Duty Nursing (PDN), and/or pediatric home care.
Proven experience leading multiple Directors of Nursing, Clinical Managers, or other director-level clinical leaders.
Demonstrated multi-site leadership experience overseeing clinical operations across multiple locations or a geographic region.
Experience overseeing a large-scale PDN operation of 100+ patients may be considered in place of previous multi-site leadership.
Strong knowledge of Washington home health regulations and payer requirements preferred.
Experience with Washington Medicaid, DDA, and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) preferred.
Strong knowledge of QAPI, performance improvement, survey readiness, and regulatory compliance.
Experience with ACHC, CHAP, and/or Joint Commission accreditation preferred.
Proven ability to drive clinical quality, staffing, compliance, operational performance, and patient outcomes.
Experience leading and developing geographically dispersed teams.
Strong background in leadership development, coaching, accountability, and change management.
Experience with incident management and risk management.
Budget and/or P&L responsibility preferred.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively balance strategic leadership with clinical and operational priorities.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Washington Experience Preferred

Candidates with direct experience in the Washington home health and PDN market are strongly preferred, including:

Washington home health, PDN, or pediatric home care experience
Knowledge of Washington State Department of Health requirements
Experience working with Washington Medicaid programs
Familiarity with DDA and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)
Understanding of the Washington regulatory and payer landscape
