Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our seafood forward butcher shop and be a head chef and help push this concept forward. This role is the heart of our food operation, responsible for overseeing all kitchen activities, ensuring exceptional food quality, maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation, and managing daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of culinary expertise, strong leadership skills, and comprehensive knowledge of food industry and has a background in seafood and butchering. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to shape our culinary offerings while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment that celebrates innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise all kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and support personnel, fostering a collaborative and motivated team atmosphere.
Oversee menu planning, ensuring a diverse selection that meets quality standards and customer preferences while controlling food costs.
Manage food production processes, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation to uphold high standards of quality and consistency.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols, sanitizing procedures, and hygiene standards to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests.
Coordinate inventory management and control procedures to optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and manage food costs effectively.
Oversee catering operations and banquet services, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes for large events.
Implement efficient shift management practices to ensure smooth daily operations across all kitchen functions.
Monitor compliance with dietary department requirements when applicable, accommodating special dietary needs with professionalism.
Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in food service management, including staff training on food handling and safety procedures.
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery in fine dining or hospitality settings.

Skills

Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining and catering environments.
Proven supervising experience managing kitchen teams in fast-paced settings.
Deep knowledge of food safety standards, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling techniques.
Expertise in menu planning, food production, inventory control, and cost management within the food industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment.
Experience managing banquet operations and large-scale catering events efficiently.
Familiarity with restaurant management systems and inventory management tools.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively across departments and with vendors.
Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in food preparation and service standards.
Knowledge of dietary requirements and accommodations for special diets when necessary.
