Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary function of this position is to create survey plats, civil engineering drawings and designs, and assist surveyors and engineers in preparing construction plans and plats for various clients. We are seeking a qualified Draftsman to take responsibility for the drafting and drawings of projects as specified by our clients. This position requires collaboration with the surveyors and engineers working on each project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Produce technically correct and dimensionally accurate drawings using 2D CAD packages to meet project requirements.

· Interface as required with fellow drafting department team members, surveyors and engineers.

· Create 2D drawings in AutoCAD following company drafting standards and instructions.

· Organize drawings in database and file system as needed following company policies.

· Perform drawing revisions in a thorough manner, incorporating engineer redlines.

· Perform other duties as required by management, engineers and project managers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver License.
Successful candidates must pass pre-employment drug screen, and related physical.
Must have a commitment to continuing professional development.
Must be detail oriented; achieve thoroughness and accuracy when completing project-oriented tasks.
Understands and uses dimensioning and labeling to produce drawings.
Draftsman must have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Basic math knowledge (scale conversions, geometry).

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Background knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
