Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to lead our organization in delivering high-quality services and programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in program development and management, particularly within the behavioral health and social work sectors. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional relationship management skills, who is passionate about supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and enhancing their quality of life.

Responsibilities

Strong experience in program development within behavioral health or social work settings.
Proven ability to manage relationships effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
Excellent supervisory skills with a focus on team development and performance management.
Strong administrative skills, including budgeting and resource management.
Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operational tasks.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and effectively.
Responsible for the overall programming for the Vocational Department.
Must ensure that all state licensing and waiver required standards are in place for the Vocational Department.
Prepares and submits the Vocational/Adult Day Hab budget to the Asst. Exec. Dir. For approval and monitor those expenditures.
Authorizes purchases for the Vocational Program.
Interviews and recommends hiring of all personnel for the Vocational Department.
Responsible for delegating sufficient authority to staff within the Vocational Department to ensure that the responsibilities the Department undertakes is carried out.
Ensure the proper training of employees in accordance with state licensing, waiver and HIPAA guidelines.
Serves as Chairperson for the Vocational Admissions Committee.
Ensures a written orientation program is in place for all clients admitted into the program.
Confers with instructors/Crew Supervisors regarding clients behavioral or learning problems, and recommends methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiences.
Confers with parents, support coordinators and other providers regarding program activities, policies, and enrollment procedures.
Maintain appropriate records according to state and local regulations.
Arranges medical attention for ill or injured client in accordance with procedures.
Plan, develop and coordinate vocational services for the Developmentally Disabled functioning as a vocational counselor within the Day Program to locate and develop new settings for clients who require specialized settings.
Must be familiar with and comply with Fire, Health and OSHA Safety Codes and Regulations.
Ensure that all areas are staffed according to licensing ratio, utilizing a sub instructor pool, if necessary.
Maintain client rights and confidentiality at all times, serve as a advocate for clients” rights within the Vocational Department.
Writes and ensures the implementation of Vocational Department policies and procedures for State Licensing and Waiver.
Meet with Instructor/Crew Supervisor regularly.
Serves as a liaison person with external agencies.
Approves and signs off on Individualized Plans ICEP’s and quarterlies as prepared by the QIDP.
Assist Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) in formulating client objectives for the Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP).
Responsible for continuing expansion of Vocational services to the community and implementation and administration of same.
Reviews and approves all requisition for materials, supplies, and/or equipment prior to submission to vendor.
Reviews and approves personnel time sheets.
Review and approve all travel request and expenses.
Reviews and approve contracts and/or invoices for consultants.
Must review and sign all Incident Reports.
Works with the Executive Director and the Assistant Executive Director (a) in a general advisory capacity, (b) in a liaison to the parents and community capacity and (c) in fostering a more “bundled” approach to marketing of overall LARC services to the community.
Must be available for all Executive, Board of Directors, staff and related committee meetings.
Responsible for knowing and carrying out the established policies and procedures of LARC and state licensing guidelines.
Required to be familiar with Safety and Hazard guidelines set by LARC/OSHA and implement such guidelines.
Required to attend on-going training.
Performs other routine duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Assistant Executive Director.
