Job Summary
The Neighbor Services Coordinator supports individuals and families across a 12-parish service area in Acadiana and Southwest Louisiana by connecting them to food resources and essential services that promote long-term food security. This position delivers direct SNAP application assistance — in person and by phone — while also building capacity within Second Harvest's partner agency network by training organizations to extend that service into communities we cannot reach alone. Working alongside various members of Second Harvest’s Impact Team, the Neighbor Services Coordinator ensures consistent, high-quality, and equitable service delivery across both direct and partner-facing channels. This role also supports connections to complementary benefits including Medicaid, CHIP, TANF, and other assistance programs.
Second Harvest Food Bank (SHFB) believes that each employee makes a significant contribution to the success of the organization; that contribution should not be limited by the work identified, assigned tasks, and overall responsibilities. Each employee is expected to offer their talents, expertise, and services whenever necessary to ensure the achievement of organizational goals.
