Full Job Description

Position Summary:

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the daily accounting operations for multiple companies by managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. The Accounting Specialist plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting cash flow, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Education Required: High school diploma.

-Associate degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred.

Experience Required:

Experience with a computer including Microsoft office suite and some form of accounting software. 2+ years of AP/AR experience preferred. Epicor experience preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely using the Epicor ERP system.

· Review, verify, code, and enter vendor invoices, matching purchase orders when applicable and ensuring proper approvals.

· Prepare and process vendor payments, including checks and ACH transactions, maintain supporting documentation, and respond to vendor inquiries.

· Process and apply customer payments, including lockbox, ACH, checks, credit card payments, and Canadian receipts.

· Monitor accounts receivable aging by contacting customers regarding past due balances, documenting collection activity, and resolving payment discrepancies, overages, shortages, pricing issues, freight adjustments, and other account-related concerns.

· Review customer accounts on credit hold, assist with account maintenance, process customer credits, and establish or update customer and vendor account information as needed.

· Monitor shared AP and AR email inboxes, respond to inquiries from customers and vendors, and collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, and other departments to resolve account issues.

· Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation, reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts, and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

· Assist with month-end closing activities, reporting, audits, and special projects as assigned.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

This position is mostly sedentary 6+ hours a day. Work is done in an office environment and requires ability to type for periods of time. There is occasional lifting of boxes up to 20 pounds. Most work is done using a computer and screen time will be heavy.

This position pays between $22 - $25 an hour depending on experience.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
