Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

You will have the opportunity to work in an independent 17025 ISO-accredited laboratory that invests heavily in state of the art instrumentation and analytical technologies and works with a multitude of Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers (MMTC) to provide them with high quality analytical data.

Modern Canna Laboratories is seeking a microbiologist with qPCR experience. You would be joining our laboratory team in Lakeland FL that is responsible for analytical work in a fast paced, high throughput laboratory.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform analyses and/or aid other employees performing analyses utilizing standard method or equipment as appropriate
Maintain knowledge of the quality assurance manual and standard operating procedures required for performance of analyses
Participate in sample prep and compositing when workload allows
Maintain knowledge of chemicals utilized in analyses
Update standard operating procedures when necessary
Work with the lead analyst and/or Technical Director on analyses if questions or concerns arise
Contact the QA Manager and/or Laboratory Director if the quality control on an analysis does not meet the requirements
Monitor microbial inventory
Perform basic daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance on instrumentation used for their corresponding analysis
Assist with instrument troubleshooting
Maintain knowledge of chemicals utilized in analyses

WHAT YOU NEED:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Biology or a related field
2 or more years experience in an analytical laboratory preferred
Experience with the operation and maintenance of qPCR preferred
Experience pipetting and/or plating preferred
Experience working with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) preferred
Experience working in an ISO 17025 environment preferred
