Full Job Description

Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), RN or MA
Location: SEK Urgent Care – Pittsburg, Kansas

Job Summary:
SEK Urgent Care is seeking a proactive, dependable, and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), RN or MA to join our dynamic care team in Pittsburg, KS. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with current evidence-based LPN, RN or MA standards and SEK Urgent Care protocols
Triage patients and assess their condition to determine urgency and direct them to the appropriate level of care
Respond effectively in emergency situations, delivering care based on patient acuity
Administer prescribed medications, injections, and treatments as directed by a licensed provider
Accurately document all treatments, observations, and patient responses in the EMR
Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries
Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, medications, and general health maintenance
Answer and return patient phone calls; document consultation notes in the medical record
Ensure proper billing and coding by completing encounter documentation with accurate supply and service use
Maintain a clean and well-stocked exam room and clinical area; contribute to overall office cleanliness and organization
Serve as a patient advocate and liaison, coordinating with providers and support staff to ensure continuity of care
Participate in team huddles and staff meetings to support clinic operations and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Skills:

Current LPN, RN license in the state of Kansas (required)
Experience in a clinic, urgent care, or primary care setting preferred
Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure or emergency situations
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities
High level of empathy, patient engagement, and customer service skills
Proficient in using EMRs and basic Microsoft Office applications
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols
Strong ethical standards and attention to confidentiality and detail
