About the work
PraediGene, a dry-lab software platform used by clinical laboratories for genomic analysis, interpretation, and reporting workflows. PraediGene has run in production inside the U.S. for several years and is now available to commercial clinical and reference laboratories.
For Epic connectivity, we are looking for help with the Epic-side interface build with the customer's own IT team, working from a specification we supply. We build and own the message handling on our side. We are engaging an experienced Epic interface practitioner to author that specification and to advise our engineering team as we build against it.
This is a defined-scope engagement with a clear first deliverable, followed by ongoing advisory support at a pace you help set.

Phase 1: Interface specification
Milestone payments at outline, draft, and final. Target duration 4 to 6 weeks.
The deliverable is a 15 to 25 page Epic integration specification consumed directly by hospital IT and integration teams. Contents:
- HL7v2 LRI Clinical Genomics message templates by clinical domain, including genomics LOINC coding in OBX segments
- FHIR Genomics resource profiles aligned to the HL7 FHIR Genomics Reporting Implementation Guide
- De-identified sample messages per domain, covering happy path and edge cases
- Transport and error handling contract covering MLLP, TLS, authentication, retry behavior, dead-letter handling, and monitoring expectations
- Customer-side certification checklist
- An Epic-side work order section, written so a hospital Epic analyst drops the required interface enablement straight into their own work queue without translation
- A cytogenetics annex covering a workflow where the laboratory edits and signs out the report, the signed document re-parses to derive discrete data, and discrete data plus document rendition file to Epic as a synchronized unit
Preceding the specification, an initial technical discovery task: draft the question set for our first customer's IT and integration team, and participate in the discovery call.
Phase 2: Engineering advisory
Hourly, billed on consumption against a monthly hour cap. No minimum commitment. Thirty-day termination by either party.
Advisory support while our engineers build the vendor-side components: result message generation, document attachment packaging, inbound order and demographics parsing, and synchronized delivery of discrete data alongside the document rendition.
Support takes the form of message-level review against what Epic accepts in practice, participation in customer technical calls, and troubleshooting during build and validation. Our engineers write the code.
What we are looking for
- Five or more years delivering clinical data interfaces into Epic environments across multiple customer organizations, on the vendor or consulting side
- Deep working knowledge of HL7v2 in a laboratory results context, including ORU and ORM, ADT, MDM, and Epic ancillary laboratory interfaces
- Direct experience with Epic Beaker, Media Manager document filing, and Epic Genomic Module or Genomic Indicators
- A track record authoring interface specifications consumed by hospital IT teams, including sample messages and error handling contracts
- Fluency in how hospital integration teams scope, queue, and validate vendor interface work
Strongly preferred
- HL7v2 LRI Clinical Genomics and genomics-specific LOINC coding
- HL7 FHIR Genomics Reporting Implementation Guide
- Rhapsody, Corepoint, Mirth Connect, or Cloverleaf as the customer-side engine
- Prior work at a diagnostics, genomics, or laboratory software vendor delivering results into Epic
- Familiarity with CAP and CLIA expectations around audit trail, validation evidence, and change control
- Epic certification in Bridges or Beaker
Engagement terms
- Work for hire with full assignment of all deliverables to Bitscopic
- Two to three recorded knowledge transfer sessions with our engineering team, included as a Phase 1 deliverable
