Landscape/Horticultural Assistant – Gardener
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour Location: Jobsites throughout Chester, Delaware & Montgomery Counties, PA Job Type: Full-Time, Seasonal (March–December)
Join our crew and help create and maintain beautiful, high-end landscapes across the Philadelphia suburbs! Topiary 219 is looking for a hands-on, hardworking person to care for gardens and outdoor spaces for our clients throughout the season.

Position Overview: As a Horticultural Assistant, you'll care for and maintain a variety of landscapes, including gardens and other green spaces. You'll work both independently and as part of a team to keep our clients' properties healthy, vibrant, and visually appealing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general gardening tasks, including planting, watering, weeding, pruning, and mulching
- Maintain garden beds and other landscaped areas to promote healthy growth
- Assist with the installation of new planting areas and landscape features
- Monitor plant health, identify pests or diseases, and implement effective solutions
- Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to client specifications
- Follow safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of plant care, horticulture practices, and landscaping techniques
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions across all seasons
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including: digging, weeding, working on hands and knees for extended periods, lifting over 40 lbs., climbing ladders, carrying full watering cans/buckets, carrying materials over rough terrain, and performing overhead work (e.g., pole sawing)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt easily when tasks or locations change
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
- Great communication skills and the ability to work supportively in a team environment
- Positive attitude and reliability
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required (you'll transport yourself and tools to and from jobsites each day)
