About the Role
Grand Traverse Pie Company is hiring a Community Sales & Brand Manager to represent our Okemos and East Lansing locations in the local community.
This role is built for someone who enjoys people, knows how to build relationships, and can turn those relationships into real catering and fundraising sales. You will be the local face of Grand Traverse Pie Company for schools, offices, universities, nonprofits, chambers, churches, medical offices, community groups, and local businesses.
This is not a sit-behind-a-desk marketing job. It is a community-facing sales role with local marketing responsibilities.
You will report directly to the Vice President of Grand Traverse Pie Company and work closely with the store leadership teams in Okemos and East Lansing.
What You’ll Do
Catering Sales
- Build catering sales with local businesses, schools, universities, medical offices, churches, hotels, and community organizations
- Identify new catering prospects and actively develop relationships
- Follow up with leads, past customers, and local contacts
- Help customers choose the right catering options for meetings, events, staff lunches, school functions, and community gatherings
- Partner with store teams to make sure catering orders are executed well
- Track catering leads, quotes, follow-ups, booked orders, and repeat customers
Fundraising Sales
- Develop fundraising partnerships with schools, PTO/PTA groups, booster clubs, sports teams, nonprofits, churches, and community organizations
- Present Grand Traverse Pie Company fundraising options in a clear and professional way
- Help groups plan successful fundraising campaigns
- Build a local calendar of school, nonprofit, and community opportunities
- Follow up consistently with organizations before, during, and after fundraising events
Community Brand Building
- Represent Grand Traverse Pie Company at local chamber events, school events, community gatherings, networking opportunities, and local business meetings
- Build strong relationships with community leaders, school contacts, office managers, event planners, and local organizations
- Look for smart local opportunities that grow awareness and sales
- Help make Grand Traverse Pie Company a visible, trusted part of the Okemos and East Lansing communities
Local Marketing
- Create simple, brand-appropriate social media and email marketing materials to support catering, fundraising, and local store sales
- Help develop local campaigns around pies, catering, fundraising, holidays, and community events
- Work within Grand Traverse Pie Company brand standards
- Use basic tools such as Canva, email marketing platforms, and social media channels
- Provide photos, stories, local wins, and campaign ideas that can be used in store and company marketing
What We’re Looking For
The right person for this role is friendly, organized, persistent, and comfortable walking into a business, school, or community meeting and starting a real conversation.
You should be part salesperson, part community connector, and part local marketer.
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience in catering sales, event sales, hospitality sales, community outreach, fundraising, local store marketing, nonprofit development, or a similar role
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Ability to prospect, follow up, and close sales opportunities
- Comfortable speaking with school administrators, office managers, business owners, nonprofit leaders, and community contacts
- Ability to create basic social media, email, and flyer-style marketing materials
- Experience with Canva or similar design tools preferred
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Organized and able to manage multiple contacts, campaigns, and follow-ups
- Comfortable using basic technology, including email, spreadsheets, social media, and task management tools
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to work occasional mornings, evenings, or community events as needed

Compensation
- Salary range: $55,000 per year, based on experience
- Performance based bonuses paid monthly
- Benefits available for eligible full-time team members
- Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel
Schedule
This is a full-time position. The schedule will vary based on sales calls, community events, catering opportunities, and store needs. Some early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends may be required.
Work Location
This role is based in the Okemos and East Lansing market. Regular local travel is required.
