Inventory Control Assistant (PM Shift)

Location: Lansing, MI
Job Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Assistant (PM Shift) serves as the primary support to the Inventory Control Supervisor and plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, organization, security, and integrity of warehouse inventory operations. This position acts as the Supervisor's right-hand partner, assisting with all inventory control functions, inbound processing activities, compliance requirements, and warehouse organization.

The Inventory Control Assistant must be adaptable, dependable, and willing to assist wherever needed to ensure efficient warehouse operations. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to teamwork. The successful candidate will demonstrate integrity, accountability, and professionalism while supporting inventory accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Reports To: Inventory Control Supervisor and Facility Manager as necessary

Schedule: Part-Time
Shift Start: 5:00 PM
Shift End: Until released by the Inventory Control Supervisor based on operational needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as the Inventory Control Supervisor's primary support during daily warehouse operations.
Assist with preparing for incoming orders based on the daily pickup calendar.
Audit customer totes and inventory for accuracy and completeness.
Assist with unloading and processing inbound trucks.
Scan, verify, and process inventory into company systems.
Support inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits as directed.
Assist with investigating inventory discrepancies, missing products, and package issues.
Maintain accurate inventory records in METRC and other inventory management systems.
Help organize, stage, and label inventory in designated warehouse locations.
Ensure customer areas, staging locations, totes, and boxes are properly organized and identified.
Assist with printing manifests and inventory-related documentation.
Support compliance and security procedures related to cannabis inventory handling.
Communicate inventory issues, discrepancies, and operational concerns to the Inventory Control Supervisor.
Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and secure inventory environment.
Complete end-of-shift tasks and closing procedures as assigned.
Perform additional warehouse and inventory-related duties as directed by the Inventory Control Supervisor or management.

Qualifications & Skills

Previous inventory control, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain experience preferred.
Experience with METRC preferred.
Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, preferred.
Ability to follow procedures, maintain confidentiality, and comply with all regulations.
Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
Ability to take direction and provide support wherever needed.

Additional Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must not be employed by any other cannabis company.
Must not have been convicted of a felony within the past 5 years.
Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving a controlled substance within the past 5 years.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform warehouse-related duties throughout the shift.

This position is expected to be a hands-on operational support role. The Inventory Control Assistant is the Inventory Control Supervisor's trusted partner and is expected to assist in all aspects of inventory control and warehouse operations as business needs require.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
