Full Job Description

Position Summary:

A System Quality Engineer ensures that systems and products are designed, built, and operated to the highest quality standards, balancing engineering excellence with regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction. Required to support the manufacturing floor with quality issues, including the scrap and dispositioning red tags. Be key contact for customers, manage customer corrective actions.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential functions)

Develop and implement rhythm automotive quality management systems and quality control processes to ensure products and services meet the specifications and regulations.
Evaluate existing quality systems, identify inefficiencies or compliance gaps, implement improvements using continuous improvement methodologies. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and compliance throughout the organization.
Compliance and Auditing: Coordinate with departments to ensure compliance with quality standards (IATF 16949 & ISO9001) and with RANA procedures and policies. Responsible for the internal audit, process audits, and layer process audits. From creating the schedules, preparing for the audit, implementing checklist, reporting to the management staff, training and developing the auditors.
Create and maintain quality manuals, procedures, and training materials. Ensure that document control systems are being utilized.
Investigate quality issues (Customer NCT, Scrap, Red Tagged Material) perform root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
Train process owners on IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards, to maintain compliance with the standards. Train staff on quality standards, tools, and best practices though leading quality system improvements and modifications.
Collect, analyze, and report quality data through management review, monthly quality message and other means of reporting. Updating and managing SPC charts and FMEA.
Address and resolve customer complaints and return parts issues.
Manage electronic quality systems and integrate quality data into process improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
3-5 years of quality engineering or quality systems experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Automotive manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
Experience working within an IATF 16949-certified Quality Management System required.
Experience conducting or supporting internal and external quality system audits required.
Experience with automotive customer-specific requirements preferred.
Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
Knowledge of automotive Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
Knowledge of internal auditing principles and corrective action processes.
Strong understanding of root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques such as 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, and similar methodologies.
Ability to interpret customer requirements, procedures, specifications, and quality standards.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, audits, corrective actions, and deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to work independently while effectively supporting cross-functional teams.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
