Physician – Primary Care | St. Petersburg, FL

Metro Healthy Communities (FQHC-Look-Alike) | Full-Time | Outpatient only

About the Role

Metro Healthy Communities is a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike (FQHC-LAL) providing primary care, HIV / HCV / HIV Prevention / STI treatment, along with a range of patient centered supportive and behavioral health services. In a community-based health center setting, this position serves diverse populations, including but not limited to those who are underserved, LGBTQ, and uninsured.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct medical services to patients of the practice. Scope of work includes Primary Care Medicine, chronic illness and disease management minor in-office procedures, and all other areas of family medicine.
Maintains a problem-oriented electronic health record for each patient in alignment with policies and procedures to include providing accurate, appropriate documentation.
Guide nursing and/or medical assistant staff of appropriate follow up and response to patient messages and related patient needs.
Establish, collaborate, and maintain effective working relationships with patients, multi-disciplinary care coordination teams, coworkers and community members.
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary care coordination teams.
Timely review of lab results, medication refills, and patient panel management
Participate in rotating on-call coverage and cross-coverage for colleagues

Qualifications

Must possess a Medical Board license (MD/DO) in Florida in Internal/Family Medicine/Infectious Disease
Must obtain AAHIVM Certification within 12 months of hire
Comfortable with seeing up to 14-18 patients per day
Strong background in chronic disease management and preventive care
Pediatric primary care experience (ages 2+) preferred but not required
Valid Florida driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation
Must pass Level II background check, fingerprinting, and E-Verify employment eligibility
