Position Summary
The ES3J and experienced apprentice is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment in various settings, including residential, commercial and industrial environments. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of electrical theory, local and national electrical codes, and safety regulations. As a journeyman electrician, you will work independently or part of a team, handling tasks such as reading and interpreting blueprints, troubleshooting electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Journeyman electricians should have a strong emphasis on quality workmanship and customer service, as you play a crucial role in ensuring the electrical systems are safe, efficient and functional.

Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, fixtures and equipment in residential, commercial and industrial settings.
- Install various types of raceway and cable tray systems.
- Interpret and understand blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical drawings to plan the layout of electrical systems.
- Diagnose electrical problems and malfunctions, using testing devices and tools. Perform repairs to restore functionality.
- Adhere to local, state and national electrical codes and regulations to ensure safety and compliance in all electrical work.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Assess and upgrade outdated electrical systems and equipment to improve efficiency, safety and compliance with current standards.
- Occasionally supervise and train apprentices or less experienced electricians, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with other supervisors, foremen, and project managers throughout the duration project being worked on.
- Turn in job tickets, reports, receipts, material list and time entries daily.
Essential Skills, Abilities and Qualifications
- Hands on knowledge as an apprentice in electrical work.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes and safety practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized with multiple complex projects at once.
- Ability to collaborate with other trades and supervise apprentices as needed.
- Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights, along with the physical and strength to handle heavy equipment.
Education & Experience
· Apprentice license
· High school or equivalent (Required)
· Any relevant training/licenses/certificates
· At least 5+ years of field experience as an electrician a plus
Requirements
- Must be able to clear background check
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must have a smart phone
- Must have reliable transportation or ability to commute
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Valuable Experience (not required)
· Electrical apprentice school
· Bilingual (English and Spanish)
· Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends and travel out of town
