FUNCTION AND SCOPE:
Under the general direction of the Cash Manager, this position is split between cash receipts and payroll duties. Incumbent is responsible for processing corporate cash receipts, including the analysis, identification, and application of daily incoming cash receipts, including checks, wires, ACH, and foreign instruments. Perform accounting and monitoring duties primarily related to various cash management activities in the Oracle applications and banking institution systems. Incumbent is also responsible for processing and analyzing complex and/or confidential clerical and accounting duties for payroll and labor distribution functions. Includes reviewing, analyzing, and inputting data from forms, reconciling data, monitoring reports, troubleshooting, and resolving issues and/or making recommendations to the Assistant Director, Corporate Payroll for resolution. This job provides outstanding sponsored program administration services and stewardship to the SUNY community (faculty, students, and other staff) and sponsors, respectively.
DUTIES:
Cash Receipts:
Responsible for coordinating the daily cash receipts process, including the daily deposit of checks, control of cash receipts, and cash assets of the corporation. Assist with daily deposit uploads from all remote depositing locations to Oracle via Key Bank.
In the Oracle Receivables Module, responsible for:

Identify and apply daily incoming electronic receipts, checks, and Federal Letter of Credit draws, and all receipts received at Central Office.

Attach receipt support in Oracle

Run processes to create receipt batches in Oracle for both the incoming electronic (wires/ACH) receipts and daily deposited receipts.
- Upload the previous day's electronic receipts from Key Bank's website into Oracle.
Assist with the follow-up and resolution of the unapplied receipts. Interact with campuses, sponsors, and Sponsored Program Services (SPS) to identify and post receipts.
Responsible for the remote deposit capture machine and updates of the software used by the Research Foundation to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the application in the day-to-day cash receipts process.
Work independently to submit, test, and approve system changes in conjunction with the ITS system's analysts to enhance the cash receipt process.
Assist in the development of monitoring tools for the treasury function and use technology for continuous evaluation of upgrades to aid in accurate and reliable financial data.
Assist with resolving help desk tickets relating to cash receipts and provide cash receipts backup to campus and central office personnel as necessary. Provide guidance to users on how to find this information in the Oracle system when needed.
Update training documents and provide support for Treasury ICE.
Payroll/LD:
Review for accuracy and input biweekly payroll, SUNY payroll, and labor distribution (LD) activity for all Research Foundation operating locations that do not input their own LD and payroll information.
Contact campus operating locations for questions about payroll, SUNY payroll, or assistance with documentation or research on any payroll problem.
Backup for biweekly payment of all voluntary withholdings, such as the United Way, parking, union dues, etc.
Backup for NYS Paid Family Leave adjustments to awards and notifications to campuses to reimburse used accruals
Backup for monitoring and taking necessary action on New York State Unclaimed Property for all payroll checks.
Backup for administering the stop-check-and-reissue process.
Responsible for distributing payroll correspondence.
Communicate with new employees receiving check payments to encourage direct deposit.
Aid in other departmental projects under the direction of the Cash and Payroll Managers.
Be an effective team player by working with others to accomplish the above objectives, and for professional development as an employee of the RF. This would include constant review of processes being performed for continuous improvements; actively participating in the development and monitoring of performance measures for the team. Project a positive image of the Finance Office and the RF by how you conduct your daily activities.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in accounting, auditing, or grants administration.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).
- Oracle Applications experience is desirable.
Salary Range: $63,000 - $67,041
