What You'll Do
As a Lead Carpenter, you'll serve as both a skilled craftsman and an on-site leader, ensuring projects are executed with precision, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality carpentry work including demolition, framing, cabinetry installation, trim carpentry, drywall repairs, doors, windows, and finish work.
- Lead daily on-site operations while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient jobsite.
- Execute project plans and construction details with accuracy and attention to craftsmanship.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, designers, trade partners, and homeowners throughout the remodeling process.
- Communicate project progress, potential challenges, and material requirements proactively.
- Uphold Interior Smith's commitment to transparency by helping clients stay informed and confident throughout construction.
- Anticipate issues before they become problems and contribute practical solutions that keep projects moving forward.
- Ensure all work meets Interior Smith quality standards and applicable building codes.
- Mentor and support team members while fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a positive client experience through courteous communication, respect for the client's home, and attention to detail.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of residential remodeling or carpentry experience.
- Strong carpentry skills including framing, trim, cabinetry, finish work, and general remodeling.
- Experience leading projects, crews, or jobsite operations.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
- Commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and professional excellence.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with primary bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, and whole-home renovations.
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
- Experience working in occupied residential homes.
- Understanding of project scheduling and construction sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
