Full Job Description

General Responsibilities:

As a Field Scientist, you will play a crucial role in our environmental consulting services. Your expertise will be utilized in conducting wetland delineations, utilizing GPS technology for accurate data collection, and creating detailed maps using GIS. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting reviews related to threatened and endangered species, ensuring compliance with regulations. Prior experience in USACE 404 permitting, although not mandatory, will be an added advantage.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Conduct wetland delineations and provide accurate assessments.
Utilize GPS technology for precise data collection in the field.
Create detailed maps and spatial analyses using GIS software.
Perform reviews and assessments related to threatened and endangered species.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and guidelines.
Collaborate with a team of scientists and consultants on projects.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of field activities.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in environmental science.
Provide support and guidance to junior scientists as needed.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field.
Proficiency in wetland delineation techniques and regulations.
Experience with GPS technology and data collection.
Strong GIS mapping skills and the ability to create detailed maps.
Knowledge of threatened and endangered species and their habitats.
Familiarity with USACE 404 permitting processes (preferred but not required).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for field work.
