POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Injection Utility
DEPARTMENT Injection
REPORTS TO: Injection Group Leader
FLSA / SALARY BAND: Non-Exempt - Production Wage Scale
Position Summary
Injection Utility performs operations to mass-produce products such as automobile mirrors by performing the following duties.
· Follow all safety rules, environmental rules, and ISO/IATF requirements
· Assure work practices are in accordance with OSHA standards.
· Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/IATF (includes ISO 9001) standards, and company policies and procedures
· Assure that work practices are in line with OSHA standards
· Tends machines, such as presses, to perform molding operations
· Works at different workstations as production needs require
- Works on-line where tasks vary as different models of the same article move along the line
- Explain placement and importance of “ID Sticker”
- Explain purpose of “first/last shot” rack (when, where and why parts are placed in them)
- Identify all check sheets (high quality start up, box/mating part/shaft check, 5s, etc.) that require completion
- Understand KANBAN (Explain where KANBAN starts and how it flows)
- Identify non-conforming material process and proper handling of NCM parts
- Perform in-process checks and final quality checks using proper check gauge, etc.
- Clean equipment to eliminate dust buildup
- Pick up debris and sweep or vacuum work area
- Clean floor in work area free of slip, trip, or fall hazards
- Empty trash cans and replace tape as needed
- Explain the importance of 5s and name and explain each of the 5s’s
- Relieve operators for breaks and meals
- Load Gaylords of resin and support dryer operation
- Required to be certified and operate a pallet truck
- All other tasks assigned by Management
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- High school/GED Required
- 3+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to follow direction, standardized work, and work instructions
- Must be able to visualize similar colors
- Able to solve basic mathematical problems
- Must have good work ethic and be dependable
- Must be able to work in a team or independently
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the position
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The Team Member is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Extensive walking will be required.
