Simply Tables is a Kansas City–based manufacturer of high-end custom furniture for restaurants, hotels, and other hospitality environments. We work closely with designers, architects, purchasing companies, vendors, and our in-house production team to turn design concepts into beautiful, durable, and buildable furniture.

Position Overview
Simply Tables is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented SolidWorks CAD Drafterto join our growing team.
The drafter will bridge the gap between client and designer requirements and the information our production team and outside vendors need to manufacture the product correctly.
The right candidate will create drawings that are accurate, complete, easy to understand, and practical to manufacture. This position requires strong SolidWorks skills, dependable follow-through, careful self-checking, and the ability to ask questions when project information is unclear or incomplete.
What You’ll Do
- Create accurate and timely client approval drawings.
- Create clear shop and production drawings for in-house manufacturing and outside vendors.
- Complete drawing revisions accurately and update all affected dimensions, views, notes, and details.
- Build and maintain an organized SolidWorks product model library.
- Produce 3D models and renderings for sales and product development.
- Prepare models for 3D-printed prototypes when needed.
- Verify dimensions, materials, hardware, finishes, quantities, and construction details before drawings are released.
- Keep drawings and project files current, properly named, correctly uploaded, and stored in the appropriate location.
- Communicate questions, missing information, project status, and potential delays clearly and promptly.
- Work closely with sales, project management, leadership, production employees, and outside vendors.
- Develop templates, standards, and systems that improve drafting accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with project coordination and other design or production needs as required.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Ability to create accurate 2D technical drawings and 3D models.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, sketches, specifications, and designer documents.
- Working knowledge of materials, construction methods, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and adapt when project needs change.
- Positive, proactive, and solutions-based approach to problems.
- Ability to work independently while remaining aligned with the team.
Preferred Experience
- Furniture manufacturing, woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, metal fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Creating shop drawings or production drawings used directly by manufacturing employees.
- Knowledge of furniture construction, hardware, wood products, sheet goods, metal, stone, and other furniture materials.
- Creating product renderings or presentation models.
- 3D-printing and prototype-development experience.
- Familiarity with preparing printable models, slicing software, and FDM printers.

- Client drawings are accurate, clear, and delivered on time.
- Production drawings are complete and easily understood by the people building the product.
- Revisions are completed thoroughly, with minimal avoidable corrections or rework.
- Drawings are carefully self-checked before being submitted or released.
- Missing or conflicting information is identified before it creates a production problem.
- Project files and models are current, organized, properly named, and easy to locate.
- Leadership receives clear updates about progress, questions, and potential delays.
- Drawing templates and systems become increasingly accurate, organized, and efficient.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
