Full Job Description

A Commercial Loan Administrator spends their day supporting the commercial lending team by coordinating loan applications, collecting and reviewing required documentation, maintaining loan and member records, and tracking the progress of loans through the approval process. They regularly communicate with business members, attorneys, appraisers, and other partners to gather information, prepare complete loan files, coordinate closings, and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date. They also monitor the commercial loan portfolio, assist with annual reviews, prepare reports for management, and help keep lending operations organized and efficient, while not making lending or underwriting decisions themselves.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Process and coordinate commercial loan applications by collecting, reviewing, and organizing required documentation prior to underwriting review.

2. Maintain communication with business members to obtain financial statements, tax returns, organizational documents, insurance information, and other required loan documentation.

3. Assist the Vice President of Lending by preparing complete loan files, tracking application status, and ensuring required documentation is received in a timely manner.

4. Coordinate annual reviews of the commercial loan portfolio by gathering updated financial information, monitoring documentation requirements, and maintaining review schedules.

5. Perform data entry and maintain accurate loan, collateral, and member records within the credit union's loan origination and core processing systems.

6. Coordinate with attorneys, title companies, appraisers, and other third-party vendors to facilitate commercial loan closings and post-closing documentation.

7. Refer approved business relationships to designated branch managers for ongoing relationship management, account opening, loan closing, deposit growth, and member service activities.

8. Prepare reports, pipeline updates, portfolio tracking information, and other administrative support materials for management, committees, and examinations. Including the successful management of the annual review schedules for assigned commercial relationships.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality by consistently reporting to work as scheduled and arriving prepared to begin duties at the designated start time.

Ensure confidentiality and preservation of member records, transactions, and company assets.

Ensure all activity complies with applicable policies and regulations.

Foster and maintain effective collaborative relations within the department and with other departments.

Maintain accurate member relationship records and activity tracking.

Represent the credit union in a positive and professional manner to the members, other credit unions, industry affiliates, the community, and all media channels including social media.

Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.

Able to input data consistently and correctly regarding archiving documentation.

Excellent interpersonal and member service skills.

Support the strategic growth and quality goals of the commercial lending portfolio.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of two years of experience in commercial lending support, loan processing, banking operations, business banking, credit administration, or financial services preferred.

Experience working with business financial statements, tax returns, and loan documentation preferred.
