Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Senior to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive tax experience, including expertise in estate planning, tax accounting, and regulatory reporting. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex tax projects, and contribute to the firm's success in delivering exceptional financial services. The Tax Senior will play a vital role in providing income tax planning and preparation.

Duties

Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
Conduct tax research related to estate planning, mergers & acquisitions, and securities law to support client strategies.
Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of tax positions.
Collaborate with clients to develop effective tax strategies that optimize financial outcomes while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
Prepare financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial software tools.
Perform account reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and analysis of financial statements to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax laws and regulations affecting clients’ industries.
Assist in training junior staff.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification preferred.
Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting with a focus on tax experience.
Strong understanding of income tax laws.
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Knowledge of estate planning, wills & trusts law, non-profit accounting, asset management, and payroll processing is a plus.
Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare comprehensive reports.
Strong technical accounting skills including account reconciliation, account analysis, budgeting, and financial statement preparation.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
Demonstrated professional integrity with excellent communication skills suitable for client interactions and team collaboration.
