Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our healthcare team in Shiprock. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in diagnostic radiology, including computed tomography (CT) imaging, and demonstrate proficiency in operating advanced medical imaging equipment. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, safety protocols, and technical excellence. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality imaging procedures to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning within a dynamic clinical environment.
Duties
- Operate CT scanners and other diagnostic imaging equipment to produce detailed cross-sectional images for medical evaluation.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, ensuring comfort, and maintaining proper positioning.
- Implement radiation safety protocols diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure.
- Collaborate with radiologists and medical staff to ensure diagnostic images meet clinical requirements for interpretation.
- Conduct specialized imaging procedures such as PET scans, fluoroscopy, mammography, DEXA scans, and nuclear medicine studies when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures performed, patient information, and technical data in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in emergency situations by providing urgent care imaging services in trauma or emergency room settings, including Level I and Level II trauma centers.
- Ensure all medical equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operated according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
Requirements
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist with specialized training or certification in computed tomography (CT).
- Proven experience performing diagnostic radiology procedures within emergency medicine or trauma center environments.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to diagnostic imaging.
- Hands-on experience with sonography, PET scans, interventional radiology procedures, mammography, DEXA scans, and nuclear medicine techniques is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with implementing radiation safety protocols and aseptic techniques during invasive procedures.
- Strong understanding of medical imaging principles including fluoroscopy, X-ray technology, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or trauma centers.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
